Ollin VFX in Mexico City, created CG exteriors for the deathbed sequence, adding environments and atmospherics outside the hospital room windows to indicate approach of Hurricane Katrina. At the time Ollin joined the production, plates were not yet available, as Fincher shot the hospital scenes near the end of principal photography. "Without plates, said Ollin visual effects supervisor Charlie Iturriaga, we did not know how close we would be to the windows. So we decided to build a very high-detailed exterior, replicating streets of downtown New Orleans including cars with complete with their interiors." The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is an adapted screenplay from the 1920's F. Scott Fitzgerald short story about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards. Directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, Benjamin Button is a grand tale of a not-so-ordinary man and the people and places he discovers along the way, the loves he finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time. www.benjaminbutton.com |
